Qiantu Motor appeared in the 306th edition of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products. This release from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on April 4th 2018 made Qiantu Motors the sixth pure electric passenger vehicle manufacturer in China.
The first phase of Qiantu Motor’s Suzhou plant has a land area of 230,000 sq. m. with a capital investment of more than 2 billion RMB the plant has a production capability of 50,000 units per annum. In departure from traditional automobile manufacturing, the plant has made use of a lot of the pioneering work in the industry, including the application of the sophisticated ‘hot melt and self-tapping’ technology which is used by the international top brands to manufacture aluminum bodies.
Qiantu is the first domestic user of the carbon fiber prepreg compression moulding process. The Suzhou plant has also adopted the use of dry-ice blasting and other advanced technologies which has enabled the automated mass production of carbon fiber covered bodies in automobile manufacturing.
Qiantu Motor’s Suzhou plant commenced pre-production in late 2017, its first pure electric sports car the Qiantu K50 will hit the market in 2018.
